MR.BLUE SKY PLEASE TELL ME WHY YOU HAD TO HIDE AWAY FOR SO LONG It had been about two weeks since Ahmar awoke from his slumber in the spotlessly organized Daybreak Town. It was a beautiful settlement, very modern and chic, unlike the rustic stone structures of Agrabah. The air smelled like moonflower and early morning dew, with hints of lavender. It was a most beautiful smell; "I wouldn't mind getting used to this..."
Wearing a white flowing harem pant with white open vest, his toned stomach showed an elaborate golden ring pierced through his belly button. The hair on the back of his head was pulled into a ponytail, decorated with a red hibiscus flower. Their mission, the mission of his union, Leopardos, was to collect Lux. All union's were actually tasked with the same goal, however, it appears each one goes about it a certain way. Master Gula wasn't very talkative, and honestly, Ahmar found hard to believe he was full of such wisdom when the Leopardos union leader is just a kid. The Agrabah-ian shrugged it off and followed orders, free housing never felt better.
Sitting on the edge of the fountain, Ahmar looked down at his reflection. Such a beautiful day. "Nothing but sunshine from here on out." he thought aloud.

The grumble came from a pale man as he stopped dead in his tracks beside a building. Long fingers splayed against a brick wall as he leaned his weight on the building before lifting one of his legs. He wobbled as he reached down with his other hand to pull off a poorly tied shoe. A frown turned down the corners of his lips as he glared down at the shoe that refused to come off. "... Right." He had to untie the laces. He tugged at the strands until the sloppy attempt at a bow came undone, his hand moving down to take the heel of his shoe and tug once more. This time, the shoe slid off and dropped to the ground. The process was repeated with the other shoe until his feet were freed.
"Much better," he hummed with relief, crouching down to pick up the shoes. He assumed it would be in poor taste to just leave them there. Was it even acceptable to walk around with bare feet? The cobble felt rough against his feet, but he could only assume that was because he was not used to it. With his shoes hooked by his fingers, he straightened up and pulled his hand off the building before shaking it. Everything felt weird when the water was replaced by air. Would the stone feel smoother then? He supposed the stone here felt more like coral than anything else had had touched in the ocean.
Rasmus let out a soft sigh as he turned away from the building and continued on. Cyan eyes remained more focused on the ground than around him, watching each step he took as if concentrating on not stumbling. He had plenty of bruises from his first week with legs, and he would rather not cause more. He did manage to pull his eyes away long enough to check where he was going, and it was then that he noticed a lone stranger sitting on the...
Uh...
Thing. Yes. That's it. Should he ask the human? No, no, that might be weird. He should ask Coral later. Maybe.
He should stop staring now. MR.BLUE SKY PLEASE TELL ME WHY YOU HAD TO HIDE AWAY FOR SO LONG Sadia, Ahmar's familiar, was off trying to locate any dark disturbances in the universe. Apparently it was her job to let him know where his services were needed. To be honest, the man hoped it wouldn't be any time soon. He wasn't really the fighting type, and preferred to take on more of a negotiator role.
It was at that moment Ahmar noticed another male in close proximity, with features he's never ever seen before. "Ohh.." Such pale skin, and hair an iridescent turquoise, as if it were made of the sultan's private jewel collection. Nobody in Agrabah had skin like that, maybe the merchants that came from distant lands...Still, this man was in a class of all his own.
He looked uncomfortable in his own body, with battered feet. Ahmar wondered about the no shoes, he adored the slippers, which he wore now. He wasn't ready to conform to Daybreak Town's foreign lace up shoes yet.;"Need some help?" he asked with a cracked smile. He leaned slightly backwards as he inspected the colinial boot the man was wearing. "I don't think I've gotten used to it either." he chuckled.

[attr="class","ras_post"]The muscles along his back grew tense and his posture rigid. He had been spotted. He knew he was going to be spotted sooner or later. He was the blue haired man awkwardly holding his shoes instead of wearing them. It was kind of hard to miss someone like him. It did not help one bit that he lost all of his camouflage that he once had. His hair stuck out against the purples and yellows of the buildings around him when he would have slightly blended into the ocean (his hair was a little too bright for the darker parts of Atlantica). Was that what the human was staring at? Was he even sure he was human? After all, he was a merman, but he had his tail stolen from him and replaced by legs upon waking in Daybreak Town. Was that the same for others?
His mind was beginning to completely stray from the matter at hand. Usually he could keep his thoughts collected, but he was a literal fish out of water. It would take him some time to return to 'normal' in that sense.
His free hand reached up to rub at the back of his neck, and Rasmus finally managed to avert his eyes, if only in mild embarrassment. "No?" He tried, though he quickly backtracked. "Um.. Maybe? I don't know." Letting a soft sigh pass through his lips, he returned his pale blue gaze to the man on the... thing. "Are these really necessary for hum-- uhhh-- us?" Poorly covering up his stumbling words, he lifted the hand holding his shoes. Perhaps he should not make it obvious that he was not human. Not yet. King Triton had always warned against it, and not even another world was going to change that. MR.BLUE SKY PLEASE TELL ME WHY YOU HAD TO HIDE AWAY FOR SO LONG The man was clearly caught somewhere between being distraught and disgruntled. Ahmar chuckled, he found it rather cute and charming. One thing Foreteller Gula explained to him was that he'd be bearing arms with other keyblade wielders from different worlds. No doubt about it, this turquoise haired fellow was as foreign as he was, through and through.
"Well, where I come from we wear shoes. Look." The brown skinned desert dweller lifted his feet to unveil a simple white slipper with a curved top. "Those I've never seen before, they look complicated." he tilted his head and bit his lip. He wasn't entirely convinced of the fashion here. One day he was sure he'd conform, but not yet. besides, it felt nice being so different. "You should get used to them soon, your feet look like a mess." he shook his head and patted the smoothed stone next to him. "Take a seat friend." In reality, the foreign man's feet looked like he'd been scrapping through the streets of Agrabah. If he didn't know what shoes were or how to wear them, Ahmar didn't have a problem teaching him.

[attr="class","ras_post"]So the other worlds do confine their feet... Curiosity lit up his eyes as the stranger's shoes were presented to him. They constasted greatly with the ones he had been given when he first arrived. His seemed to be far more preferable than the clunky footware he carried. His did not have the weird fake eels consticting the shoe to his foot. His looked like they could slip on and off without the need for the struggle Rasmus had moments ago. They also looked more breathable and lighter to wear.
"They are," he stopped himself from stepping forward for further investigation. That highly curious nature of his wanted to steal the shoe right off the man's foot just to investigate, but he knew better than to steal. Rasmus forced his eyes away from the stranger's shoes, briefly glancing at the man's face before looking down at his own feet. He wiggled his toes as a look of contemplation crossed his features, a frown tugging at his lips. Was it really that bad?
Cyan eyes turned up to the man once more, and he blinked in mild surprise. Friend? Rasmus shifted on his feet before complying, stepping forward to take a seat on the edge of the... thing! Ugh, he might as well ask at this point. Setting his shoes down beside him, he chewed on the inside of his cheek with a moment of hesitation. "So, uh..." He began, voice soft. Blue eyes looked everywhere but at the man as he managed to find the courage to speak, motioning behind them with a nod of his head. "What is... this thing?" MR.BLUE SKY PLEASE TELL ME WHY YOU HAD TO HIDE AWAY FOR SO LONG Why is he being so shy? Ahmar could understand anyone's hesitation however, being dragged out of their normal into something so far fetched it was nearly impossible to wrap around. He couldn't speak for everyone but he could certainly speak for himself, he absolutely welcomed the change of scenery. It was starting over, and that meant something to him. An opportunity to start a new life on neutral ground.
When the man asked about what they were sitting on, Ahmar couldn't help but giggle; "This? This is a fountain. It's a structure made of stone that spits up water in a very beautiful and elegant way. It's basically decoration." The palace grounds had all sorts of gorgeous fountains modeled after lotus blossoms. Now was the time of that conversation that was meant for introductions; "I'm Ahmar by the way. Pleased to make your aquaintance." he respectfully bowed his head, as most Agrabah-ian's did when they met someone new. "So what union are you a part of?" he wondered. That was the next pressing question, as that seemed to be a huge aspect of their new lives.

[attr="class","ras_post"]A flood of embarrassment washed over him, tinting his cheeks and ears red, as the other's giggle reached his ears. It was easier to ask questions in Atlantica where no one else knew what something was except for that one seagull who seemed to know about everything on the surface. Actually asking a human was a completely different level that he was not certain he was ready for, as it was evident by his reaction.
Yet, he found himself captivated by the answer he received. He turned the upper half of his body toward the 'fountain', resting one hand on its edge for support. "Fou-- nnn-- tain..." He slowly echoed the word, sounding out each syllable. "... It spits? Does that mean it's alive?" He turned around more, pulling his legs over the edge and dipping his bare feet into the water. It was a welcomed feeling, even if it was not the same as the salty ocean of his home. He did not even mind the feeling of his pants gradually becoming damp. "If it is alive, should we be sitting on it? Does it eat? No, no, it's made of stone..."
He was getting a little too excited over this.
It took him a moment to realize that a name had been given. Ahmar. What a strange name. He tore his eyes from the fountain to blink at the man. "Ah..." He straightened up slightly before mimicking the head bow. "Rasmus. The pleasure is all mine, sir." He paused for a moment, if only to try and remember the name of his union. "Vulpeus. You?" MR.BLUE SKY PLEASE TELL ME WHY YOU HAD TO HIDE AWAY FOR SO LONG Eyes widened at the prospect of a fountain being alive. "What?" It was then Ahmar erupted in a bellow of laughter; "Your quiet, but so far your the funniest guy I've met since I got here." he bucked. Where in the hell was this guy from if something like a fountain doesn't exist? Before he could further explained, the turquoise hair man figured it out on his own.
Rasmus? Interesting name, although he's never heard of it, it didn't sound like it was too foreign. He could imagine a Rasmus living in Agrabah if he thought hard enough. At the mention of Vulpeus, Ahmar's ticker began to ring; "Vulpeus...The one union with a fox as their insignia, right?" He didn't know much about other unions, only the Leopardos Union he was apart of, run by Master Gula. He strongly encouraged him to bond with fellow union members, as opposed to neighboring unions. He didn't quite understand that mentality. "I'm from Leopardos. Our symbol's a leopard, obviously." he chuckled. "Funny, why these different unions exist." he wondered aloud. "I guess that's the way it is." he shrugged.

[attr="class","ras_post"]That familiar embarrassment washed over him once more, and he let his eyes linger on the fountain so he did not have to face the man's laughter. He had not meant to be 'funny'. He was just curious. These may seem like stupid questions or ones that were obvious to those of other worlds, but they did not have 'fountains' in Atlantica! Hm, well, they might have them on the surface, but they were forbidden to go there. He would not be able to investigate, anyway. If he was given the chance to go home, he was certain his tail would return. That would be a blessing. No more shoes!
"Fox?" He echoed, his eyes once more latching onto the figure of the other man with confusion and curiosity. "What's a... fox?" A frown adorned his lips as he thought, thinking back to the mask he had seen his Foreteller wear. At the time, it was nothing he had ever seen before. He remember being captivated by its strangeness, though there was too much going on at the time for him to ask what it was. He rationalized it as being a large scale attached to her head, though, the more he thought about it, the stupider that sounded. Humans did not have scales.
"Leo... pard?" He must seem like a fool right now, echoing the words he did not understand. His brow knitted in confusion as he reached up to rub at the back of his neck. He let out a sigh, dismissing his prior behavior. "I can only assume it's because of this place's ruler... Or lack thereof?" Cyan eyes turned to the sky. "I still don't understand why we're here." The explanation he had been given fell on deaf ears. Rasmus had been too preoccupied with his new legs and surroundings. MR.BLUE SKY PLEASE TELL ME WHY YOU HAD TO HIDE AWAY FOR SO LONG Ahmar could feel himself growing a bit tired of all the questions, but he did his best to rationalize. His last statement was one the former street rat couldn't agree with more. "Umm, yeah. They all told us the same story. There's a darkness coming. A threat." At this point, Ahmar hasn't really gone toe to toe with Heartless as of yet, but he heard the stories. Beings that want to consume light, as if it was a hearty meal.
"We'll just have to face these monsters whenever they show up." Ahmar's keyblade, the Jeweled Scarab, was such an odd weapon. He supposed it was something similar to a scimitar or sword, but apparently they held far more power than that. Master Gula didn't really go into detail, but what was the young man to do? Take his word for it, obviously. he thought. "My dream eater isn't with him today, she went off to investigate some disturbances in neighboring worlds." Sadia said she wouldn't be too long, she didn't seem like the type who would take forever either. "When she comes back she'll be sending me on missions. I hope she takes forever, I'm quite enjoying myself not doing anything." he mused happily. Scratching his head, he decided it was time to figure out what rock Rasmus was born under.
"So what world are you from? It must be very different if things like foxes and fountains don't exist there." Maybe he came from a pre-historic world or an extremely archaic place. He might be part of an ancient civilization.

[attr="class","ras_post"]Perhaps it was time for him to bite his tongue and keep his questions to himself. This conclusion was only drawn when he was not told what a fox or a leopard was, and, while it was disappointing that new information was not given, he supposed it was for the best. He could not keep bogging down one person, a mere stranger, with questions. That would make a bad first impression, right? Oh, who am I kidding? I already ruined it. He would not be surprised if Ahmar tried avoiding him later so he could not overwhelm him with more questions.
His eyes focused on the water spewing from the fountain, watching as it arched in the air before falling back down. It was a fascinating sight, one he never would have hoped to experience. The closest he had to seeing anything like this were underwater currents and areas where you could see a sharp definition between two layers of water. Even that could not compare. It was a shame to think that a darkness threatened the worlds, that it threatened the peace he felt while watching the fountain 'spit'.
Rasmus found his gaze briefly returning to Ahmar at the mention of his Dream Eater. He was curious to see what the other Dream Eaters looked like, but he held his tongue once more. There would be a chance to meet others in time, he supposed. "Yours must be very dutiful, then," he hummed, turning his head to glance down the way he came. It was hard to tell, but there was a smudge of voilet that poked out from behind a building, only to duck back a moment later. "Mine is... hiding over there." He glanced back with a small smile. "She's a little shy."
He opened his mouth to answer when his voice caught in his throat. He closed his lips, frowning with thought and hesitation as he turned his attention to the fountain. King Triton forbade encounters with humans. He was already breaking the rules, so it should not matter too much if he said anything, right? Rasmus slowly parted his lips, taking in a soft breath before he was able to answer. "Atlantica. The ocean is all I've ever known. We... aren't allowed near the surface." MR.BLUE SKY PLEASE TELL ME WHY YOU HAD TO HIDE AWAY FOR SO LONG The young man waved at whatever it was that was behind the building, Rasmus' dream eater apparently. When the turquoise haired keyblade wielder unveiled he was from Atlantica, Ahmar couldn't quite put his finger on the name. Rasmus' next statement would astound him however; "Your from....the ocean?" It all made sense now! He's heard stories from foreign merchants who come from distant lands, about the vast sea and the magical creatures that reside under the water.
"Are you a mermaid?" his eyes brightened with wonder. This was something right out of One Thousand and One Nights! A folktale he didn't think could exist; "Forgive me, I'm just, shocked, but I guess with our current situation I shouldn't be that surprised..." Ahmar felt like he was being a little over the top.Agrabah was an oasis buried deep in a sweltering wasteland. "My world, Agrabah. is basically a city in the middle of a desert. It's very hot and there's nothing but sand, everywhere." he described.
"I've always wanted to see the ocean. I've been told its very far from the city of Agrabah, but I was planning on it.." He didn't have enough money at the time, but eventually Ahmar was hoping to leave Agrabah in search of lands with different fabrics and silks he could bring back to sell at the bazaar. That's what merchants did after all, but before that could even occur...Well, he found himself here.

[attr="class","ras_post"]"Ah... Yes." Eyes of blue pulled away from the spewing water, turning toward the other man. King Triton would have his head if he knew about this. Well, his brother or father might get to him first. It was a little too late now; Ahmar was quick to figure out just what he was with only the ocean as a clue. Despite the sinking worry, he had to admit that it was a big weight off his shoulders to have someone know. It was yet to be determined if this was a good thing, but at least he got to see the human's eyes light up.
"It's fine," a smile formed on his lips. "Your reaction is... a lot better than what I was expecting. We've been taught that humans would--" Rasmus trailed off, momentarily averting his gaze. "Ah, never mind. Forget I said that." He inwardly chided himself for not holding his tongue. He did not have a clue if this man could possibly turn out to be like the stories he grew up with. Only time would tell. "... You are human, right?"
He glanced Ahmar up and down before he was distracted by the description of Agrabah. His nose wrinkled slightly at the thought of heat and sand. Was it extremely dry there? Was there even water? "What's a desert, and how can you stand to live there?" Hopefully it was fine for him to ask questions again. They had moved on from his initial curiosity that caused him to question almost everything unfamiliar that had been said.
"Perhaps you can," Rasmus hummed, slowly standing up. He probably was not supposed to be standing in the fountain, but keeping his feet submerged just felt right. He turned toward Ahmar with a growing smile on his face. Both hands moved to rest on his hips. "If we get to visit Atlantica, I'll give you a personal tour of the ocean, from the palace to my favorite hide aways. I can even get you a meeting with the little princess!" MR.BLUE SKY PLEASE TELL ME WHY YOU HAD TO HIDE AWAY FOR SO LONG "Bad, terrible, awful, miserable, evil...?" he finished for him. "Your absolutely right, but not all human's are like that." Back in Agrabah, Ahmar had plenty of encounters with amoral villains, that included his masters at the brothel he grew up in. Forcing youth to sell their bodies...Sure, Ahmar had the personality, his experience wasn't as traumatizing as some others. He's seen a lot of tragedy, orphans who would kill themselves in an effort to escape their insufferable lives...Ahmar said a silent prayer for those souls. For many of them, he personally knew.
"I am human, but I'm not one of the bad ones. As you can tell." he stated with a wink. The next topic of conversation surrounded Agrabah and the definition of a desert, for someone like Rasmus, such an intense climate sounded unthinkable. Not to mention he probably wouldn't be able to survive the unforgiving sun, with such fair skin like that; "Well, it's exactly as I said before. There's barely any water, most of it comes from an oasis, which is a lush patch of trees and vegetation with a spring of water found in certain parts of the desert." Ahmar hoped his explanation made sense, for he was far from teaching material. "Its all I've ever known." he shrugged. "That's why my skin is so dark. The people of Agrabah have brown skin because there's so much sun. Why? Well I'm not good with sciences haha." That's as far as his lesson will have to go.
Eyes beamed once more at the mention of Atlantica, he looked up at Rasmus, chuckling at his sudden spark of passion. He loves his home.. he thought. "I mean I don't know how I'll be able to breath underwater, but that sounds perfect." Rasmus mentioned a princess, so Atlantica was also run by a sultan. That made sense, how else would it work? There's no such thing as a place with no leader. "And if we ever go to Agrabah, I'll show you the amazing sights we have. There's pyramids, ancient temples..." Ahmar almost forgot, that despite the harsh society, Agrabah had its own wonders to admire.
